- POSITION STANDARDS
- High School Graduate or GED equivalent required
- Associated Degree in Health or Human services related field required
- Experience in a health related field preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree (e.g., BA, BS) preferred, or degree expected within 5 years of hire in a health related field.
- 2 years of supervisory experience required
- Must obtain and maintain clinical competencies within assigned unit.
- Excellent written, verbal and computer skills required.
- Demonstrated abilities with problem solving, leadership, communication, fiscal responsibility and teamwork.
- Ability to work effectively in groups of employees and with patients and patient families is essential.
- Computer proficient
- LNA, MA or EMT license required.

- PART TWO: FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
Manages patient satisfaction and flow within inpatient care units. Provides oversight of direct patient care to support patient and staff needs. Serves as a lead, role model, and extension of management to uphold institutional priorities, policies and practices. Will also visit with patients on occasion.
- Supervising shift activities to assure efficient operations of the unit.
- Provides feedback to department Director in preparation of performance management process.
- Addresses conflicts as they may arise. Assists/mediates to maintain smooth operations of the unit. Involves unit leadership as appropriate.
- Facilitates timely admissions and discharges to optimize clinical capacity.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
- Maintains daily schedule changes as needed
- Investigates, performs follow up, and selects appropriate individuals for RL follow up and closure
- Gather data on established metrics as requested by Unit Director for process/continuous improvement activities
- Tracks and maintains costs for operation of MSU & SSU
- Maintain tracking of department equipment for smooth operations (Biomed)
- Support & assist in implementation of quality projects on the MSU & SSU
- Available to other departments as a resource within the scope of their training, outside of normal business hours
