Job Summary 

The Infusions Manager will oversee the development and operation of the Infused Products department of Ayr Wellness. Duties will include development of staffing plans as well as development of recipes for edible products as well as formulations for other marijuana-infused products (MIPs) such as: tinctures, balms, sprays, pills, sublingual strips, drinks, and topicals. The Infusions Manager will also oversee initial staffing and management of the Infused Products staff to ensure following of best practices in food production, quality control, tracking and oversight, as well as full compliance with all applicable local and state regulations. 

Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Oversees productivity of Technicians and Leads on the production floor.
  • Oversees the hiring and training process for new staff members as well as retraining of current staff on an as-needed basis.
  • Ensures safety, quality, and GMP guidelines are followed in production and packaging areas.
  • Formulates and reformulates products.
  • Self-informs current Infusion trends and helps conduct recipe development to remain competitive in the market.
  • Maintains Food Safety Standards, completing all necessary documentation such as batch records, sanitation & calibration logs, etc.
  • Operates, cleans, and maintains all infusions equipment; trains new employees and coaches existing employees on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Completes production orders with consistent high quality and speed.
  • Keeps accurate records at all steps in process to maintain quality, control, and traceability of regulated product.
  • Labels reconciliation and printing.
  • Enforces quality and compliance standards for each product.
  • Troubleshoots mechanical and procedural issues.
  • Suggests and implements cost-saving ideas, working with performance metrics, data, order and inventory trends.
  • Complies with all state and local laws and company policies and procedures, codes of conduct, and emergency and safety procedures.
  • Adhere to organizational KPI’s which include; 95% production demand adherence on a monthly cadence and 95% success rate on compliance tested formulations.

Qualifications 

  • Must meet age requirement as outlined by state cannabis agencies.
  • Able to pass all background checks/fingerprinting as required by state cannabis agencies.
  • Able to provide valid badging/credentials as required by state cannabis agencies.
  • Managerial experience in a commercial food production or other kitchen environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong desire to produce a high-quality product.
  • Ability to multi-task repeatedly with exceptional attention to detail with minimal errors.
  • Excellent PC Skills and expertise in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Proven record of boosting team performance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers.
  • Must be dependable, professional and confident.

Education  

  • Culinary degree, certificate, or at least 5 years of kitchen management experience.

Experience  

  • 4-6 years

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environment.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication capabilities.
  • ServSafe Food Safety Certification.
  • This job will require continuous education and training.
  • This position will require reading and learning through textbooks, articles, webinars, and hands-on activities.

Direct reports 

  • Manages department within a function with authority to hire/terminate

Working conditions 

  • The person in this position may be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals and fumes. Although systems are in place to remove these byproducts, there is still exposure to some degree.
  • The working area may be odorous at times and loud due to fans and filtration systems, fluctuating between cold and warm temperatures.

Physical requirements 

  • Sitting, standing, and walking motion/movement will be required.
  • Lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds may be required.
  • Constant movement and use of hands/fingers and limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
  • Constantly operates kitchen machinery and other productivity equipment
  • Must be able to inspect and detect quality defects.
  • Work on weekends and alternate shifts may be required.
