The Registered Nurse performs blood transfusions, chemotherapy infusions, antibiotic infusions, steroid infusions, electrolyte infusions, and vitamin infusions. Administering medications and fluid therapy, monitor patients IV and medications and develop care plans.
Job Responsibilities:
Administering medications through an IV line, using specialized medical knowledge to select the appropriate dosage and delivery method.
Observing patients for signs of infection or other complications in order to intervene early with treatment.
Educating patients on their condition, treatment plan, medications being administered, etc.
Recording patient information including vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatment.
Collecting and testing samples of blood, urine, spinal fluid, or other bodily fluids for diagnostic purposes.
Preparing equipment and supplies for infusion therapy and monitoring patients during infusions.
Maintaining accurate records of patient care activities, treatments provided, test results, and other relevant information.
Monitoring patient comfort level throughout the infusion to ensure that they are tolerating the treatment well.
Performing general nursing duties such as taking patients’ vital signs, bathing patients, and assisting them with personal hygiene tasks
Job Requirements:
Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
2+ years’ current experience
Must have worked an inpatient unit such as ICU or Med-Surg unit where the infusing of IV medications is done regularly.
Must be experienced with infusing antibiotics, IV fluids, Steroids, iron and several different medications via IM and Sub-Q.
Will not infuse any chemotherapy or biotherapeutic medications.
Current RN license from the State of Texas Board of Nursing
Valid Texas Driver’s License and ability to be insured by agency carrier
Job Details:
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Starting at: $42/hr (Based on experience) + benefits
