The Infrastructure Supervisor is a specialized, hands-on technical position responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, managing and improving district infrastructure, troubleshooting and solving problems arising in a large, heavily used LAN/WAN (physical/virtual) environment as well as planning, assisting, and coordinating tasks and activities in implementing future installations and upgrades of the technical infrastructure. Additionally, the Infrastructure Supervisor investigates, researches and tests emerging technologies and provides leadership in developing the future use, management, and growth of complex technology systems. Heavy emphasis is placed on technical abilities, interpersonal skills, and systems architecture. The Infrastructure Supervisor is part of the Technology Leadership Team and works collaboratively to provide support and leadership with building Technology Services Supervisors, District network staff, Instructional Technology Supervisor, District Instructional Technology Staff, District technicians, District helpdesk staff and Information Management staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:

• CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or demonstrated Cisco experience
• MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) or demonstrated experience
• ACSA (Apple Certified System Administrator) or demonstrated experience.
• Must have knowledge of data communication protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, IGRP, EIGRP, RIP, OSPF)
• Must have knowledge of firewalls and wireless technologies
• Must have experience with Storage Area Networks (installation, configuration and troubleshooting)
• Must have experience with VMware (installation, configuration and troubleshooting)

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• Communicates system changes and updates to appropriate district and building staff.
• Establishes, manages, and maintains district test facilities for research and development.
• Provides leadership in development, deployment, integration and standardization of hardware.
• Provides support and management of all district technology infrastructures.
• Provides technical and project management leadership on large scale projects.
• Assists in the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Establishes processes for technology systems monitoring to provide optimal uptime.
• Demonstrates and trains on the use of technology systems.
• Works with vendors and strengthens vendor relationships.
• Stays current with new and emerging technologies.
• Assists in developing and communicating appropriate policies and procedures.
• Identifies opportunities to outsource District systems such as Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, Software as a Service to reduce the District's hardware footprint.
• Serves as a technical consultant for the District's technology instructional programs.
• Writes/edits technical documentation pertaining to technology standards and procedures.
• Identifies and recommends best practices for planning, engineering, implementing, maintaining, monitoring and supporting technology systems.
• Develops, defines, implements, and enforces Information Security Policies.
• Assists in the development, design, engineering, integration and implementation of complex District technology systems.
• Manages and maintains the Districts VoIP phone system.
• Manages and maintains the District's web filters, web caching servers and load-balancers.
• Manages and maintains the District's physical and virtual servers.
• Collaborates with district and building leadership to ensure equity is infused in practice and remains at the forefront of efforts to disrupt inequities.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by the Director of Instructional Technology and Technology Services.

LENGTH OF CONTRACT: 12-month assignment
MINIMUM SALARY: Supervisory Salary Grade Five - $95,391.00; Plus benefits package
EFFECTIVE DATE OF APPOINTMENT: Effective Immediately
