Role : Infrastructure Network Engineer
Key Skills : Power related product design, FTE Left Off, data centers
Location : Reston, VA ( 100% onsite from Day 1 )
Role Description
-Power Design and Configuration Standardization: Develop rack level power configuration standards for each network platform and rack type. Drive consistency in power configurations and mitigate risk for the network.
-Workflow Implementation: Implement a new in-rack power design workflow with cross-functional review process. This includes building engineering design packages (EDP) to be used by ENS and field deployment teams.
-Installation Standardization: Implement a new standard operating procedure for power install and field QA/QC. Ensure safety for all parties involved while improving the quality of the installation.
-Power Monitoring and Automation: Implement power monitoring from smart PDUs and upstream power infrastructure. Improve visibility and capabilities for proactive detection of network power issues.
-Ownership Clarification: Clarify and document ownership on design, implementation, and operations for network power.
-Network Power Product Sourcing: Support Meta sourcing teams with in-rack power material forecasts and supplier diversity initiatives
-Network Power Product Design and Configuration: Lead network equipment rack-level power product development initiatives for ENS, including new vendor product development and selection, testing, and operationalization.
-Network Power Monitoring and Alerting: Implement power monitoring improvements from smart in-rack PDUs and upstream power infrastructure to improve visibility and proactive detection of network power issue
- Up to 15% travel required.
-This is an in-office role within our Virginia office.
Must have skills: Must-Have Skills 1 Experience in terms of power related product design and life cycle management. Come in and be able to pick up where the prior FTE left off.
2 Experience in a mission critical facility, implementing these products (data centers).
3 Ability to be a self-starter, and drive towards objectives with little oversight. Good collaboration, good communication. Drive meetings, collaborate with partners.
Good to have skills: Nice-to-have Skills 1 Understands operations, monitoring software, pipeline programming, scripting skills.
-Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
-Minimum of 7 years of experience in power product design and configuration for data center and networking equipment.
-Strong understanding of power distribution and monitoring systems, including smart in-rack PDUs and upstream power infrastructure.
-Experience with network equipment rack-level power product development initiatives, including new vendor product development and selection, testing, and operationalization.
-Knowledge of standard operating procedures for power install and field QA/QC within a data center environment.
-Experience with power product sourcing and supplier diversity initiatives
-Knowledge of workflow implementation and automation through scripting and tooling
-Ability to develop and implement power configuration standards for each network platform and rack type.
-Experience with ownership clarification and documentation of design, implementation, and operations for network power.
-Strong collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders, and document highly technical product specifications and process documentation.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing situations and utilizing troubleshooting experience, systems and tools, and problem solving.
- Experience delivering outcomes with limited supervision.
- Project management experience.
- Experience working in a global team environment.
