Purpose of Role:
The Information Technology (IT) specialist will set up workstations with computers, smart phones, and necessary peripheral devices; check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards, monitors, etc.) to ensure functionality, and install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications. A successful IT specialist must have thorough knowledge of computer hardware, Microsoft Office 365, and a variety to internet applications, networks, and operating systems. The ideal candidate will also have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail. The goal is to build and maintain updated and efficient computer systems and networks to optimize the role of technology on business stability.
The successful candidate has experience "training" users of the sytems to make appropriate and safe usage of the IT infrastructure,
In addition, the IT specialist will work with the Microsoft Office365 consultant, especially with regard to SharePoint and security protocols to help the organization collaborate efficiently and effectively both internally and externally. The IT Specialist must have experience in cyber security, with knowledge of HIPAA and FERPA regulations.
With the right knowledge and experience, the IT specialist may work with the Data Manager to build data collection systems, including an inventory system for all equipment and supplies throughout the company.
Primary Role Responsibilities:
- Set up workstations and mobile computers with necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers, etc.)
- Set up "smart phones", inventory, and assign to staff as requested by ED.
- Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards, monitors, etc.) to ensure functionality.
- Install and configure appropriate software functions according to specifications.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of local networks to optimize performance.
- Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems to comply with HITECH, HIPAA, and FERPA.
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
- Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work.
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging, etc.)
- Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule.
- Identify computer or network equipment shortages and request orders be placed.
- Assist the Microsoft 365 Consultant by observing and evaluating how the company currently utilizes Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Planner and assist with the creation of policies and procedures for easier file creation and management
- Advise on the various roles users can be assigned in Microsoft and how they would be able to perform to their titles
- Advise on the benefit of PowerApps or Dynamics365 for any organizational needs
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Provide training to staff members on how to use various Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, SharePoint, OneNote, etc) and best practices for fluid collaboration
- Assist in setting up the dental EHR complete with billing and imaging packages
- Manage and track inventory of all hardware
Working Conditions:
- This work will be done in the office or in the field during regular business hours with some flexibility.
Specific Requirements:
- Expert in Office 365 apps and Office 365 Administrator role
- Proficient in Excel data, managing data, and assisting with clean-up of data.
- Proficient in cloud security
- Expert in server maintenance
- Proficient in Azure
- Proficient in SharePoint
Desired Qualifications:
- Certified in Microsoft Office 365
- Previous experience working for a small health clinic or other non-profits to customize their technology needs

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
