- The Information System Security Manager (ISSM) will work with on-site agency IT staff, other USAF personnel and DoD cybersecurity teams to provide cybersecurity support for five networks to include the AFNET/NIPRNET, RDT&E/DREN, commercial wireless, SIPRNET and JWICS.
- Typical duties will involve leading IT business for cyber inspections, attending cyber conferences and events, using industry technologies to perform vulnerability assessment and intrusion detection, performing cyber duties generated by security bulletins, providing cyber get well plans to keep AFOSR networks compliant with DoD/DAF regulations, and providing Tasker support.
- The ISSM will leverage cyber domain expertise to help lead other cyber team members in the performance of all mission cyber activities with specific attention to cyber policy adherence. The ISSM will leverage domain expertise to provide cyber advice and consultation to the Chief Information Technology Officer and report any deficiencies, anomalies, threats, and risks.
- The ISSM will use proven experience in helping AFOSR follow the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process for submitting system packages for validation and accreditation and to successfully guide other cyber personnel through this process. During times where agency access to core IT services such as email and internet are unavailable the ISSM will work within the team to troubleshoot and help resolve system connectivity.
- The ISSM is also expected to support in non-cyber areas providing versatility to the IT division and assist IT operations to support users and lead assigned IT projects. The ISSM will also work with cyber and IT operations personnel to help ensure stable IT operations. The ISSM is expected to engage daily with agency personnel at all levels and must have strong critical thinking, oral and written communication skills.

Required Qualifications
- SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade DR-02/GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems.
- Examples of specialized experience includes at least one (1) year of specialized experience in Information System Security Manager ((ISSM) career field.
- Acceptable candidates will have experience identifying acceptable levels of cyber risk and assist with action plans, policy, and procedural changes to mitigate them. Experience providing strategic recommendations to IT projects to improve results and help deliver or maintain high performing IT systems in compliance with regulations. Experience reviewing, understanding, updating and implementing cyber security regulations, standards, and practices. Candidates must have demonstratable IT related experience for each of the four competencies listed below.
- Attention to Detail - Is thorough in business performance and conscientious about delivering high quality work.
- Customer Service - Works well with both internal customers and other DAF cyber personnel to assess needs and provide accurate assistance to resolve problems or satisfy expectations. Possesses knowledge of available products and services allowed for use in a DAF IT environment.
- Oral Communication - Clearly and accurately expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups, considering the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, and responds appropriately.
- Problem Solving - Leverages cyber and IT knowledge to identify problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate solutions and make recommendations.

- This is an APDP position requiring Level/Tier 1 (Foundational) Non-Critical certification in Engineering & Technical Management (N). This position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position

- Must have and maintain a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification
