The Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association (LACERA) is seeking an Information Technology Specialist II - Java Architect to orchestrate the planning, design, development, testing, and maintenance of the LACERA's Java-based platform. This role offers an exciting opportunity to become a technical leader in the organization's application architecture. The Java Architect will act as team lead on all Java-based projects, helping to scale up LACERA's systems and maintain exceptional usability. They will be an expert in object-oriented design - creating powerful applications through encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, and abstraction. In addition to foundational object knowledge, this expert should possess an understanding of security, DevOps, automated code review, and automated testing. Prior background in an organization that adheres to governmental compliance is ideal, with public sector experience preferred. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator and relationship builder, capable of working closely with UX developers, systems administrators, and IT analysts.
