About the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA):

The International Motor Sports Association, LLC (IMSA) was originally founded in 1969 and owns a long and rich history in sports car racing. Today, IMSA is the sanctioning body of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the premier sports car racing series in North America. IMSA also sanctions the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge and Historic Sportscar Racing, as well as five one-make series: Ferrari Challenge North America, Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, Mazda MX-5 Cup, Mustang Challenge and Porsche Carrera Cup North America. IMSA – a company within the NASCAR family – is the exclusive strategic partner in North America with the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) which operates the 24 Hours of Le Mans as a part of the FIA World Endurance Championship. The partnership enables selected IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship competitors to earn automatic entries into the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans. SUMMARY

May be assigned to the following areas as needed:

Pit Lane: Setup and maintain equipment in the Pit Lane for the collection and distribution of information.

lT Services: Install, configure and troubleshoot Internet and data distribution networks.

RF Distribution: Install, configure and troubleshoot Cable TV Systems.

Video Distribution: Setup and maintain SDI equipment for TV Broadcast.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assist with the distribution, collection, loading and unloading of equipment after each event in accordance with standard operating procedures.

Maintain parts and equipment inventories for operation of assigned duties.

Keep current with local schedule, maps and information for the event.

Understanding of radio use, procedures and etiquette.

Work with customers to provide timely assistance while portraying a professional image.

Basic knowledge of networking management and principles.

Diligently monitor, diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues.

Repair cables and other related equipment as needed.

Perform routine maintenance on systems.

Willingness to work with and learn new technology.

Approximate travel 90%; including weekends.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.

QUALIFICATIONS 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years of experience in information technology and telecommunications.   An A.S. degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Technology or similar discipline is desired but not required.

Formalized training and/or experience in networking and computer technology. 

Must be able to:

- Use hand tools of the trade correctly and safely, including multi-meters, screwdrivers, wire cutters and soldering irons.

- Read and follow SOPs, flow charts and technical drawings or schematics.

Experience desired, but not required, with:

- Mylaps electronic timing systems.

- Knowledge of software used in racing (results / strategy / telemetry)

- Any programming languages.

- Network administration.

- Signal distribution.

- Wired, RF and fiber optic cable.

Experience with or ability to use more complicated electronic test equipment, test programs and specialty tools such as coaxial crimpers, data crimpers, pin & de-pinning tools, etc.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficient on Company provided hardware and software, email, Internet FTP usage.  Must be able to use current Microsoft Operating Systems.  Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid driver's license.
