The PC Support Technician is responsible for basic installation and troubleshooting of personal computer
hardware and software within a LAN environment. Participates, as a technical resource needed in both large and small projects. Functions as a point of technical services contact for Information Services and is accountable for technical service request resolution. Assists in educating individuals outside the IS department as it relates to Information Systems and services.
Acts as a point of contact for technical and IS services.
Provide responsive support for IT service requests and incidents.
Configure and deploy computer equipment/software.
Creating user accounts.
Assume responsibility for the maintenance of all IT hardware (desktops, laptops, printers, etc.)
Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues on desktop, laptop, printer (MFP) and scanner devices.
Serves as a technical resource for IT related projects and tasks.
Interface with other team members to collaboratively resolve/escalate technical challenges.
Investigate hardware problems and perform advanced LAN communications repair.
Support data backup activities at local office.
Support word processing platform.
Maintain Information Systems hardware and software inventory.
Requisition new resources for procurement activities.
Perform routines updates to software and equipment.
Participate in IT related project initiatives.
Complies with all IS Policies, Procedures and Standards.
Active participation in a rotating on call schedule.
Experience
Strong knowledge of PC hardware and software.
Basic knowledge and understanding of network systems.
Strong knowledge of PC installation requirements.
Previous experience with midrange or mainframe systems and support.
Good analytical, logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Good communications skills, both verbal and written.
Previous experiences with direct, in-person user support.
Prefer experience in a healthcare environment.
Education
HS diploma or equivalent
Associate Degree in Information Technology (preferred)
A+, Net+, Sec+ Certification or equivalent
Experience supporting Microsoft Windows and Office products (MS Office 365, Win10 etc.)
