THE ROLE
AMD IT Project Managers are responsible for managing the day-to-day activities and driving successful completions of projects in a dynamic, global environment. Our IT Project Management professionals work across organizational boundaries to develop comprehensive project plans and schedules, identify risks and facilitate project execution tasks. AMD Project Managers play an integral role in the project completion and may be asked to utilize their skills in expanded roles to supplement skill gaps within the team.

We are seeking someone who is outgoing, highly organized, persistent and tenacious, with the ability to successfully influence others.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintains project delivery schedules with well-defined milestones.
- Manage and track program schedules, technical issues, and negotiate priorities against project plans to ensure key internal and external deliverables are met.
- Drive project lifecycle execution processes to ensure compliance to project processes and controls.
- Manage project resources by aligning allocations and demand with the PMO.
- Provide effective communication regarding status, issues, objectives, dependencies, risks and plan execution to management, development teams and business partners.
- Work with team members to complete project deliverables and facilitate execution including acting in extended roles as a business analyst, QA lead, communications lead and meeting facilitator.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience managing multiple, complex technical projects including interfaces, infrastructure, software development and vendors.
- Experience managing Information Security Projects is strongly preferred. Strong Infrastructure experience will be considered in lieu of InfoSec experience.
- Leadership skills along with excellent communication, organizational and people skills and the ability to work across functional groups.
- Ability to priorities or trade-off decisions in coordination with appropriate team members.
- Experience working in global companies with outsourced resource models.
- Proficient with project/program management tools such as MS Project, Clarity, MS TFS, agile methodologies and bug tracking applications.
- Hands-on experience with developing and reporting on metrics for software development, test execution, bugs, issues, risks, and other aspects of project and program management.
- Strong skills in the Microsoft area including Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel and Power Point), MS Project.
- PMP Certified.
- Experience with software product development cycles.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS, EE, Information Systems or related field preferred.
