Identification of Infectious disease process, surveillance and epidemiologic investigation, perform the use of Sentri 7 electronic surveillance system, preventing/controlling the transmission of infectious agents, apply and use surveillance data and reports, apply and use risk assessments and hazard vulnerability analysis, participate in antimicrobial stewardship program, develop mission statement and goals of the infection prevention and control program, develop the annual Infection Prevention Plan, participate in cost-benefit assessments, efficacy studies, evaluations and standardization of products, recommend changes based on recent evidence based practices, provide infection prevention and control findings, recommendations, and reports to appropriate stakeholders, high-level negotiation skills, prepare and present educational content that is appropriate for the audience, conduct literary review, lead process improvement teams, assess infection risks related to construction and renovation that impact patient care settings, collaborate with others to select and evaluate environmental disinfectant products.
Education:
Minimum: High School Graduate
Minimum: Registered Nurse
Preferred: Bachelors Degree or CIC certification
Required: Active member in the Association for Professionals in Infection Control
Experience Minimum: 2 years’ experience working in the medical field of which the applicant is licensed / registered or certified.
Preferred: Previous Acute Care Experience or working in Infection Control Previously
