We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing individual to join our team as an Infant Montessori Teaching Assistant. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, particularly in the Montessori method, and a genuine love for working with infants. As a teaching assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe, stimulating, and enriching environment for our youngest learners.
Responsibilities:
- Support the lead teacher in implementing the Montessori curriculum for infants, focusing on individualized learning and development.
- Assist in preparing the classroom environment, ensuring it is clean, organized, and conducive to exploration and discovery.
- Provide hands-on support to infants during daily activities, including feeding, diapering, and nap time routines.
- Foster a nurturing and respectful atmosphere where infants feel secure and valued.
- Observe and document each child's progress, maintaining accurate records of milestones and achievements.
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure open communication and continuity of care between home and school.
- Model positive behavior and language, serving as a role model for infants and promoting social and emotional development.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to deepen understanding of Montessori principles and best practices in infant care.
- Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the classroom.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with infants in a childcare setting, preferably within a Montessori environment.
- Familiarity with the Montessori philosophy and principles of child development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with infants, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and meet state licensing requirements for childcare providers.
