As a teaching assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe, stimulating, and enriching environment for our youngest learners.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing the classroom environment, ensuring it is clean, organized, and conducive to exploration and discovery.
  • Provide hands-on support to infants during daily activities, including feeding, diapering, and nap time routines.
  • Foster a nurturing and respectful atmosphere where infants feel secure and valued.
  • Observe and document each child's progress, maintaining accurate records of milestones and achievements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure open communication and continuity of care between home and school.
  • Model positive behavior and language, serving as a role model for infants and promoting social and emotional development.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to deepen understanding of Montessori principles and best practices in infant care.
  • Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the classroom.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with infants in a childcare setting, preferably within a Montessori environment.
  • Familiarity with the Montessori philosophy and principles of child development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with infants, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and meet state licensing requirements for childcare providers.
