Job Description:
Verifies, prepares, and distributes all specialized and ready-to-feed formulas and enteral feedings in accordance with patients' prescribed diets and requests.

  • Pay Rate: $18.29 + depending on experience
  • Shifts: Part-time (24 hrs)

Job Essentials
  • Receives, clarifies, and fulfills formula orders for patients and other disciplines by request.
  • Safely and accurately prepares labels, and delivers formula for patients within regulatory guidelines, utilizing specialized equipment such as: flow hood and gram scale.
  • Maintains inventory of formula and supplies in materials storage room, formula room, Outpatient Pharmacy and unit nourishment centers. Places inventory orders to maintain adequate PAR levels. Puts away orders when received, rotates inventory and disposes of expired inventory.
  • Completes necessary paperwork for order preparation, billing and tracking. Checks and records refrigeration temperatures in nourishment centers throughout the facility to ensure that refrigerators are maintaining appropriate temperature levels.
  • Cleans and sanitizes work area and equipment 6. Coordinates outside facility requests for formula supplies.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Food handler's permit (as required by facility)
  • Demonstrated good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills and keyboarding proficiency.
  • Demonstrated math skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to transcribe information quickly and accurately.

Preferred Qualifications
  • CNA or other clinical experience
  • Food service experience

Physical Requirements:
  • Interact with patients and co-workers requiring the employee to verbally communicate information, as well as understand spoken information.
  • Operate food service equipment or computer requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
  • See and read labels, monitors, and documents.
  • Carry, push/pull, and walk while transporting food, supplies, and service equipment.
  • Climb, squat, kneel, and lift to clean equipment and reach and retrieve food and supplies.
  • Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.
  • Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work at a grill or in a refrigerator.
