Destiny Academy is hiring for our 2023-2024 school year. We are excited to build our team of teachers and teacher's assistants, who will be influential in instilling the children of our community with a Christian- based foundation by teaching the value of love, education, compassion and equality.
General Qualifications:
-Must be at least 21 years of age
-Knowledge of Title 22 compliance regulations
-Able to problem solve and critically think
-Excellent leadership, organization, and management skills
-Exceptional oral and written communication skills
-Knowledge of Early Childhood Educational Rating Scale (ECERS) and Desired Result Developmental Profile (DRDP) curriculum
-Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR training, California Emergency Medical Services Age (EMSA) Health and Safety Certification, and current TB
-Successfully complete background investigation and drug screen
-Ability to lift or move average weight of up to 50 pounds in awkward or difficult positions, such as to prevent accidental injury to a child
-No child-related offenses
Educational Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, one of the following credentials must be completed prior to employment:
Option 1
-The completion of at least 12 semester units of coursework in child development or early childhood education ( For Teachers). OR
-The completion of at least 6 semester units of coursework in child development or early childhood education ( Assistant Teacher).
-The completion of at least 175 days of experience in a childcare and development program ( For Teachers).
Option 2
-The completion of an associate’s degree or higher in early childhood education or child development or a related field; AND
-The completion of at least three units of supervised field experience in an early childhood education setting ( For Teachers) .
Option 3
-Teachers or Assistant Teacher's Permit.
