An Industrial Tool & Automations Engineer job in Merritt Island, FL 32953 is currently available at Belcan. As a Tooling & Automation Engineer you will design, assembly, install, software development for and trouble shoot electro automation systems. Experienced in assemble machinery, machine tool, production automation, test automation machinery, robotic work cells, fabrication machinery, automated guided vehicles, etc. Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery including motors, pumps, servos, drives, PLCs, etc.
Job Duties:
*Initiate and support the tool design process, which covers machine/controls requirements & specifications generation, system design (mechanical and electrical), implementation, production, validation and fielding.
*Support machinery receiving and deployment, which requires activities such as drawing reviews, test report reviews, SOW/requirements reviews, validating compliance matrix, reviewing machine code for compliance to customer standards as well as PDR, CDR, PAT, FAT and ATP participation, commissioning, and training, etc.
*Support production automation machinery to ensure uptime, stop issues, troubleshoot and correct defective machine control issues.
*Support production machines, such as Friction Stir Welding Machine and Robot, AGV, Controlled Positioners, roll cradles, Controlled platforms, Powered part holding, tooling, Robotic Spray Automation, Multiple Axis Engine Installation Machinery, NDT Inspection Robot.
*As needed, update/trouble shoot automation code, design drawings, submit and monitor work tickets, coordinate suppliers, etc.
Required Qualifications:
*Experience in full life cycle design, deployment and maintenance of automation production machinery as well as electro-mechanical systems for processing aerospace vehicle and component production or ground support equipment.
*Experience in building, installing and maintaining production automation systems which include assembly machinery, machine tool, automation systems, robotic work cells, fabrication machinery, automated guided vehicles, etc.
*Experience in automated industrial machinery components such as motors, servos, drives, pumps, relays, PLC, HMI, safety devices, 3 phase power, communication devices, all phases of industrial electrical controls, etc.
*Ability to set up both A/C and D/C drives.
*Experience in machine control logic (Software PLC programming experience) using Siemens TIA portal and/or Rockwell.
*Experience with Controls and Automation Hardware/Software, such as Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell, Beckhoff, PLC programming/debug, six-axis mechanical robot programming (Fanuc, KUKA), etc.
*B.S. degree (or higher) required in Mechatronics, Electrical, Controls, Automation, or other relevant engineering field.
*7+ years" experience designing, integrating tooling or equipment used in the manufacture, assembly, and test of aerospace hardware.
*Due to the nature of the work, must be a U.S. citizen.
* Overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
*Familiar with various control systems standards such as IEC 61131, ANSI B11, NFPA 79, and RIA 15.06
*Experience with writing and developing software in a high-level language such as Python, C#, etc.
*Excellent technical writing, grammar, and presentation experience
*Experience with electrical verification of machines
*Experience with process automation equipment & tooling
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $130,000 to $150,000.
