POSITION OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking an experienced Industrial Refrigeration Technician, to be both a working tech and Service Manager, to join the fast-growing FirstCall Refrigeration team in Miami, FL. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and strong problem- solving skills, as well as a high level of customer service.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for refrigeration repair and maintenance support to industrial accounts in the food, beverage, refrigerated storage, pharmaceutical, and gas processing industries
- Perform routine and emergency service on Ammonia refrigeration equipment commonly found in industrial applications
- Includes working knowledge of screw and reciprocal compressors, electrical troubleshooting all common types of ammonia central systems and control/alarm systems
- Identify opportunities for team improvement, set a plan for achieving customer satisfaction and sales goals, and coach accordingly
- Assist the dispatching operation to ensure appropriate technician selection for type of service
- Resolve customer issues and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction
- Ride along with technicians to observe customer interactions and workmanship; coach as needed
- Keep track of maintenance contracts and frequencies of service. Makes sure all maintenance contracts are completed on time. Keeps track of the hours spent on contracts, and make sure we do not go over any hours on them
- Answer questions from the technicians about jobs, procedures, or assist with technical questions
- May need to take supplies, tools, materials and such, to the field technicians when needed
- Delivery of goals and metrics for assigned group
- Ensure all process and procedures are followed
- Identify and communicate where improvements can be utilized
- Quality assurance on all work performed at customer facilities
- May assist with new team member on-boarding or new customer on-boarding
- Demonstrates an understanding and adherence to all work safety polices, procedures and governing requirements
- Ability to work unsupervised or with limited instruction
- Maintain and manage truck inventory and / or job tool boxes in an accurate, neat and orderly manner as well as adhere to vehicle maintenance program guidelines
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive field work experience in ammonia refrigeration service
- Management experience a must
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented and highly motivated
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate, or learn to operate, all necessary tools and equipment
- Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed
- Sufficient physical agility to work in awkward places and from ladders or scaffolding as required by particular jobs
- Physical ability to endure high and low outside temperatures
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Active EPA certificate

This position reports to the local Service Manager and has a responsibility to the entire service team and all of our customers.

Environmental Requirements
Has ability to work remote when not required in office for project-specific requirements.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate the computer keyboard and telephone, reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
