Job responsibilities:
- Must be able to mix paint and then apply to the customer specifications and schedule requirements for steel drums.
- Must utilize spray guns working within spray booths to paint drum exterior according to specifications.
- Previous mixing machinery experience in effort to get the correct viscosity, pump into system as required per job. Must be familiar with cleaning and flushing paint equipment lines between colors and applications.
- Must know how to work with all the equipment for proper paint booth work.
- Previous work with industrial heaters / ovens to cure and finish the paint coats once applied.
- Must know general maintenance and cleaning practices for painting gear, spray paint guns, booths, the linings for the booths and the heating equipment.
- Must be able to fill out the production reports as required.
- Be familiar with the process of requisition of paint gear when necessary.
- Requisition weekly inventory of paint and solvents, rotate inventory.
- To organize trial runs of new paint, lining and customer sample drums.
- To carry out other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Participate in Lean and MPS initiatives.
Required:
- HS diploma.
- 5+ years of work in a manufacturing company environment for spray painting products.
- 5+ years of experience working with protective equipment, personal protective equipment ( PPE ), respirators, paint booths, etc.
- Clear English communication skills for both written and verbal.
- Must know manufacturing company quality procedures.
- Must be able occasionally lift 50 lbs and regularly lift heavy and bulky objects.
- Safety equipment is provided by the company.
- Must have good eye, hand and foot coordination while working.
- Must have good sense of color matching skills for this work.
- Ability to operate a forklift safely to eliminate personal injury and material damage.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in cold, heat and dusty environment; includes occasional work outside in the elements.
- Ability to safely operate small hand tools.
