Our brand-new manufacturing and installation facility is opening in Battle Creek, Michigan (Viking-Cives Great Lakes Division). Job Summary:
In this Industrial Painter operator role, you’ll be responsible for blasting and painting manufactured truck parts and dump bodies to customer specifications. A mindset of continuous improvement and outside the box thinking is important, as we constantly try to better ourselves in every aspect of what we do. Best of all, we are a fully employee-owned company where we work together as a team to build a successful and profitable business.
Responsibilities
- Clean machines and area regularly
- Weekly preventative maintenance of equipment and paint booth
- Blast manufactured parts and prepare for painting
- Read work orders to reach production goals
- Operate and inspect forklifts
- Set up equipment for use
- Continuous improvement
- Make any adjustments that are necessary to comply with customer requirements
- Make minor repairs as needed
- Other duties and responsibilities as required; we are a Team, and we support each other.
Qualifications
- A proven ability to be a respected, trusted, and reliable professional
- Great interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- A demonstrated ability to collaborate up, down, and sideways
- Training and expertise with industrial painting equipment; preferably on steel
- Ability to read and follow all safety and quality protocols and work instructions
- 2+ years of experience, preferably in the manufacturing or truck equipment industries
- HS diploma or GED is required
- Excellent work history - at your jobs for more than 2 years
- Preferred consideration for candidates with skilled trades certification
