Join the Matrix Fitness team as an Industrial Design intern for the summer of 2024!
Our goal is to continuously push industry boundaries and create positive experiences for all who interact with our products. This effort has led to great success; whether it’s commercial or retail, cardio or strength, Matrix has an impactful and influential market presence.
As an intern on our team, expect to contribute and gain valuable experience. You will work with a breadth of individuals and departments, including UI/UX, Engineering and Management to name a few. You’ll gain practical knowledge with firsthand exposure to design and development for manufacturing.

You’ll create a take-home portfolio that documents your experience on our team. Our goal is to send you back with even more skills, shine and confidence than you had when you arrived.
This will be a hybrid role with the majority being in the office for better company exposure. Additionally, personal health is highly encouraged with access to our company fitness showroom.
The position is paid and will be for approximately three (3) months; we are flexible with start and end dates.

Responsibilities:
- Assists with general design efforts: concept sketching, brain storms, model making, rendering, presentation materials.
- Participates in design reviews.
- This is a non-supervisory role.
Education:
- Should have junior or senior level academic status within a dedicated or accredited Industrial Design program.
- May have practical work experience within design consultancies or corporate environments in post academic settings.
- Understands or is familiar with general manufacturing processes.
Experience:
- Minimum of 0-2 years of experience within the field of Industrial Design.
- Should have practical experience with physical model making techniques.
- Should have some practical experience with CAD software.
Skills:
- Basic working knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop and other Adobe Suite software.
- Basic proficiency in CAD software: Solid Works, Rhino, Alias or other 3D programs.
- Minor proficiency in Microsoft suite: PP, Excel, Word etc.
- Basic proficiency in general workshop operations: modeling making, paint systems, 3D presentation techniques.
