The team you will be a part of:
The Procurement team identifies researches and evaluates suppliers that meet the organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply. Recognizes and evaluate sales, promotional campaigns, and other opportunities to secure reduced prices. Assesses supplier's products to ensure that they comply with specifications and meet the organization's quality standards.
This role in summary:
Information Technology (IT) Procurement Category Management role requires strong collaboration with Chief Technology Officer, Global Information Systems staff, and Business Functions to deliver Whirlpool's Corporate Imperatives. The IT Procurement Category leader will complement Global Information Technology business needs with clear strategy, sourcing initiatives, supplier identification and commercial contracting that improve operating requirements (cost, quality, delivery). The role will optimize +$250M annual spend for NAR & LAR N Regions and report to the Sr. Director of the Indirect Materials & Corporate Services, Global Strategic Sourcing. The IT Procurement Category has special emphasis on Whirlpool's Global Information Systems with additional Procurement accountability for Engineering and Financial services. The Category Leader is responsible and accountable to lead category strategies, sourcing initiatives, supplier selection, and contracting aligned to Policy and KPI. The role is highly cross functional and requires the ability to lead and influence in a highly matrixed global organization design. The IT Category leader will support/lead Local, Regional, and Global initiatives to deliver company imperatives.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Lead performance and development for staff of 6 direct reports.
  • Drive supplier performance management and commercial relationships.
  • Build strategic relationship with the GIT leadership, extended team, and Finance partner to develop category strategies aligned to long term technology roadmap and business objectives.
  • Provide leadership and management for procurement projects and initiatives.
  • Identify, develop and lead/support opportunities to optimize spend, reduce costs, mitigate supply risks, improve services, bring innovation, and assure supply.
  • Drive change, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead category activities by:
    • Advanced management systems, governance, and controls.
    • Develop and implement global sourcing strategies utilizing state of the art sourcing practices and anticipate marketing evolutions to optimize strategic sourcing procedures and attain maximum value.
    • Prioritize resources and critical projects (directly/indirectly) to achieve plan.
    • Optimizing sourcing projects, key initiatives, and supplier negotiations.
    • Support the coordination of all supplier performance reviews, spend analytics, benchmarks & reporting and deliver insights and deliver risk mitigation plans and actions.
    • Lean and/or Direct the negotiation of a variety of technology types, including hardware, software, data, and cloud services.

Minimum requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited University
  • 4+ years IT procurement, 10+ years professional procurement / supply chain, business experience
  • Advanced application of technical procurement acumen (strategic RFx processes, supplier management, commercial contracting, negotiation, other core procurement principles).
  • Advanced application of Whirlpool Leadership Model and Enduring Values

Preferred skills and experiences:
  • Master's Degree with graduate and/or undergraduate studies in Supply Chain or Business
  • Experience and or knowledge with IT related services
  • Advanced negotiation experience, commercial contracting development, and execution
  • Advanced ability to anticipate market changes and adjust strategy accordingly
  • Advanced ability to manage detailed cost analysis to build and execute negotiation plans
  • Advanced planning, organizational, managing, financial, and analytical skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and influential skills to engage staff and business partners
  • Advanced leadership attributes with clear ability to be persistent and decisive
  • Advanced written and verbal communication (English language), with expert PC related skills

Additional information:
**Employees in this role can work a hybrid schedule of 3 days on-site and 2 days remote. This enables employees to come together to collaborate in-person and gives employees the added flexibility to work remotely.
