Job Summary

The Indirect Procurement Buyer will focus on all Capital spend projects across all of the Post Holdings, Inc. (PHI) operating companies (Bob Evans Farms, Crystal Farms, Michael Foods, and Post Consumer Brands).  They will perform market analyses as well as develop, execute, and manage ongoing sourcing strategies related to the procurement of manufacturing goods and services in the following primary categories: capital equipment, manufacturing supplies, and more. They will be responsible for strategic sourcing, competitive bidding, contract negotiation, and business continuity planning for all capital spend across the organization.  The Indirect Procurement Specialist will work to develop and implement a strategy to ensure that our suppliers can deliver high quality, cost effective, and reliable solutions for the associated business teams. They will be responsible for managing over $400 million in annual spend as the category owner across all of PHI. They will be responsible for creating and delivering a strategic capital plan for executive leadership on a quarterly basis. They will collaborate with internal leaders across all businesses to ensure that all capital projects are on time and within budget.   They will be required to work closely with the engineering teams to deliver against the capital projects each year.

 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Strategic Sourcing:
    • Partner with Engineers or Project Managers to meet timelines and budgets.
    • Evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term partnerships to ensure cost affective and high-quality procurement outcomes.
    • Achieve and maintain alignment with Engineering business teams on short and long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews, and address any issues with suppliers.
  • Contract Management:
    • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
    • Monitor contract performance and take necessary actions to enforce terms and conditions.
    • Manage a multitude of multi-million dollar contracts and high visibility projects simultaneously.
  • Collaboration:
    • Interact with and present to senior-level and executive leadership at PHI, PHI operating companies, and suppliers.
    • Partner with Corporate and Site Engineers and Project Managers.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify and assess potential risks in the supply chain, and develop and implement mitigation strategies.
    • Stay updated on industry regulations and compliance requirements to ensure procurement activities align with legal standards.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Generate and analyze reports related to supplier performance of timing and matching proposed costs.
    • Provide regular updates to management on procurement activities and performance.

 


Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred, equivalent experience considered
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant procurement, engineering, project management, or related operational experience
  • Strong analytical and business judgment, including demonstrated problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
  • Uses problem-solving and analysis to assess the financial and strategic impact of business initiatives
  • Results driven for being the low-cost producer and supporting company growth strategies
  • Influence without authority and provide leadership when working toward solutions involving cross-functional teams within PHI and when working with PHI operating companies
  • Engages in proactive decision-making
  • Sets priorities, manages multiple projects, and proven ability to define project timelines and meet tight deadlines
  • Talks about the possibilities and is optimistic
  • Probes all sources for answers and can quickly sense what will help resolve issues
