Job Summary:

Inspects all incoming packaging components and raw materials and completes the corresponding inspection records with accuracy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Verifies received quantities, item key numbers, lot numbers (if applicable), material name, container contents of all incoming materials by cross-referencing to applicable documents.
  • Performs inspection, sampling, and testing of all incoming raw materials.
  • Verifies receipt of Certificates of Analysis and Material Safety Data Sheets on all lots of incoming raw materials.
  • Performs inspection of incoming packaging materials per MIL-STD 105E procedures as required by customers.
  • Performs inspection of other incoming packaging materials by comparing carton labeling and carton contents to packaging material standards.
  • Records results of all inspections on appropriate corresponding forms.
  • Records results of all inspections on appropriate corresponding forms.
  • Applies appropriate labeling denoting status of incoming materials; includes making labels on personal software.
  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation without posing a direct threat to individual or others.
  • Performs clerical tasks in the laboratories.
  • Performs assigned tasks in the Production area.

Knowledge & Skills:

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Performs quick and accurate count verifications.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
  • Perform work using good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Write legibly.
  • Communicate by written and/or verbal means the nature of discrepancies and defects of the inspected material.
  • Basic knowledge of computers helpful.
  • Work with minimum supervision.
  • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and use of tools.
  • Perform essential duties and responsibilities efficiently, accurately, and safely.

  • Pallet jack

Education/Experience:

  • 1+ year experience in manufacturing environment preferred
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years Quality Control experience preferred.

Physical/Mental Demands:

  • Regularly required to stand
  • Occasionally/frequently required to walk
  • Regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • Regularly reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally/frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment:

  • Regularly required to work in areas where chemical materials are encountered
  • Regularly required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
  • May involve exposure to shop environment including variable noise levels
