The Incident Management Bureau conducts investigations of abuse, neglect, exploitation, environmental hazard, suspicious injury, and deaths of individuals who receive State and Federal Medicaid funded services through the waiver programs. Such programs include the Developmental Disabilities waiver, the self-directed Mi Via waiver, the Medically Fragile waiver, the Supports waiver and the State General Funds program.
Why does the job exist?
This position will triage reports of abuse, neglect, exploitation, suspicious injuries, environmentally hazardous conditions and death for individuals on the developmental disability waiver, Mi Via Self-Directed waiver, the Supports waiver, and the Medically fragile waiver. The incumbent will be responsible for taking ANE reports through the hot-line, monitoring the ANE on-line reporting system and checking daily for ANE faxes, and in some instances procuring Immediate Action and Safety Plans. The Incumbent will analyze evidence to determine jurisdiction and authority to investigate pursuant to state regulations and then send the information in the form of a tip sheet to the screening team for a screening decision. When needed, this position will create intake packets and send the case information to the assigned investigator and during downtime complete case closures.
How does it get done?
The primary role of the Intake Specialist is to take calls through the ANE hot-line, check for on-line ANE report submissions and also check the fax machine daily for possible ANE reports. The Intake Specialist receives the information and creates a tip sheet containing the information reported and provides this information to the IMB screening team for a screening decision. Job does entail some on-call working hours.

Individuals receiving services through the State's Medicaid waiver programs such as the Developmental Disabilities waiver, the self-directed Mi Via waiver, the Supports waiver, the Medically Fragile waiver, and the State General Fund Program.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess the following: Preferred candidate should have 3-5 years of call center and customer service experience. Preferred knowledge of the Developmentally Disabled (DD) waiver system or have worked in a DD waiver setting and have an understanding of systems and organizations that serve the population.
Minimum Qualification
Associate's Degree in from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Architecture, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Rehabilitation and/or Criminal Justice and two (2) years of experience in community based healthcare services and case management. Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must Possess and maintain a current Defensive driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. The applicant must be available to work on-call
Working Conditions
Working knowledge of and extensive use of the telephone, Microsoft Word, Visual/Video Display terminal, basic computer knowledge, basic typing skills, professional customer service skills. Must be available for On Call (after working hours/weekends).
