Such programs include the Developmental Disabilities waiver, the self-directed Mi Via waiver, the Medically Fragile waiver, the Supports waiver and the State General Funds program.

Why does the job exist?

This position will triage reports of abuse, neglect, exploitation, suspicious injuries, environmentally hazardous conditions and death for individuals on the developmental disability waiver, Mi Via Self-Directed waiver, the Supports waiver, and the Medically fragile waiver. The incumbent will be responsible for taking ANE reports through the hot-line, monitoring the ANE on-line reporting system and checking daily for ANE faxes, and in some instances procuring Immediate Action and Safety Plans. The Incumbent will analyze evidence to determine jurisdiction and authority to investigate pursuant to state regulations and then send the information in the form of a tip sheet to the screening team for a screening decision. When needed, this position will create intake packets and send the case information to the assigned investigator and during downtime complete case closures.

How does it get done?

The primary role of the Intake Specialist is to take calls through the ANE hot-line, check for on-line ANE report submissions and also check the fax machine daily for possible ANE reports. The Intake Specialist receives the information and creates a tip sheet containing the information reported and provides this information to the IMB screening team for a screening decision. Job does entail some on-call working hours.
