Position: In-Person Tutor for Various Subjects
Grades: 1st - 8th grade
Hours: Part-time or Full-Time between the hours of 8:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Job Description: Are you a passionate tutor looking to positively impact students' lives? Or do you have relevant tutoring experience and want to help students struggling? We are seeking an enthusiastic support team member in a school setting in Wilmington, DE. As a support tutor, you will provide Small Group instruction for students identified by the school in grades 1st - 8th.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-person tutoring of core subjects with students, providing personalized instruction and support.
- Collaborate with students to help them understand the subject material and improve their academic performance.
- Interact with students' teachers to discuss the specific needs of the students and aware of how to move them forward.
- Maintain a consistent schedule and ensure availability during hours between 8:00 am to 3:00 pm Part-time or full-time hours
- Demonstrate strong communication skills to engage with students effectively.
- Adapt to changes and multitask efficiently in a dynamic educational environment.
- Foster a motivating and supportive learning environment for students.
- Utilize your passion for working with kids to inspire and empower young minds.
- Maintain information on the students to share with teachers and school administration.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree or higher is needed.
- A minimum of 2 years of tutoring in a Small Group setting (student teaching and practicum excluded from timing noted)
- Available up to 35 hours a week
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students.
- Ability to work with students to help them understand the subject material.
- Dependable and committed to maintaining a consistent schedule.
- Reliable transportation
- Within 30 minutes from Wilmington, DE area
