Job Location: Jefferson City, Missouri
The Missouri Department of Transportation is seeking a Senior Civil Rights Specialist (Workforce Lead) for the statewide Improve I-70 Program. This program includes the planning, design, construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation, and repair of three lanes in each direction approximately 200 miles of I-70.

What you'll do:
  • Develops workforce development and partnership opportunities with the I-70 Program.
  • Helps develop a STEM program to educate high school students along the corridor of the opportunities in transportation.
  • Assist in addressing the equal employment opportunity and affirmative action programs for external employment, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certification, participation and verification, on the job training (OJT), contract compliance and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act.
  • Maintains knowledge of regulatory policy and legal material relevant to external Civil Rights; implements and manages policies for compliance with all Civil Rights programs and current laws.
  • Oversees project and contract compliance reviews and approves sub-recipient policies to ensure compliance with Civil Rights programs.

All you need for success:
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree: Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources/Personnel Management, Law or related field.
  • Four years of experience in Civil Rights activities.

Special Working Conditions:
  • Job requires statewide and out-of-state, overnight travel along I-70.
  • Remote work location from any MoDOT facility or hybrid telework option may be considered.
