Importing Specialist

Job purpose

Supports the Importing team with custom agents, warehouse staff and shipping companies; helps with shipping, receiving and record keeping for international transactions; promote and implement the company’s core values and excellence in customer service; responsible for maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers.

Duties and responsibilities

Supports tracking customer orders and investigating problems.

Supports tracking sample orders and investigating problems.

Supports in coordinating shipping with customs for clearance on overseas shipments.

Supports in processing and documenting returns as required following established procedures.

Assist in coordinating shipping with customs for clearance on overseas shipments.

Assist in collecting product information from vendor for set up into data system.

Assist Sales team with order printing, processing and inventory control.

Collaborate with Sales, marketing and Product Development teams.

Performs business critical tracking for importing department.

Works with the Accounting Department for payment tracking issues.

Supports maintaining a safe working environment and focuses on safe work habits.

Maintains a focus for self and team on continuous learning that will enhance skill sets and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

A high school diploma and/or equivalent experience

Bilingual skill in Chinese, strongly preferred

3-5 years of importing experience, preferred

Must have excellent customer service, both written and verbal skills

Proficient in Microsoft Access and excel strongly preferred

Must have the ability to produce significant volume and work independently

Photoshop and Illustrator experience preferred

Physical requirements

Sitting, Standing, Walking

Lifting: Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling)

Carrying, Pushing, Pulling boxes and sample orders up to 50 lbs.

Ability to work extended hours when/if workload required

The successful candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
