Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Import / Export Logistics Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing the end-to-end logistics operations of importing and exporting Steel and PVC products. The role requires a deep understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and supply chain management. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless movement of goods across borders while optimizing efficiency, cost, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the entire import and export process for Steel and PVC products, from order placement to final delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation.
• Collaborate with suppliers, freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams to coordinate shipments and monitor progress.
• Stay updated on international trade regulations, tariffs, customs requirements, and documentation, ensuring full compliance at all stages.
• Handle the preparation, verification, and management of Import/Export documents including invoices, packing list, bills of lading, certification of origin, and customs declarations.
• Perform classification of products according to Harmonized System (HS) codes for accurate duty assessment and compliance with custom regulations.
• Optimize shipping routes and transportation methods to reduce costs and transit times while maintaining product quality.
• Identify and mitigate potential logistical challenges, such as customs delays, port congestion, and transportation disruptions.
• Negotiate contracts and rates with freight forwarders, carriers and other logistics service providers to ensure favorable terms for the company.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs, and transportation metrics for reporting and analysis purposes.
• Act as a liaison between internal teams, suppliers, and customers to provide accurate and timely updates on shipments status and delivery schedules.
• Handle and resolve any issues related to damaged goods, customs clearance, and delivery discrepancies.
• Continuously see opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency within the logistics function.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or a related field. Advanced degree or certification (e.g., CSCP, CIFFA) is a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in import and export logistics, with a demonstrated focus on Stainless Steel and PVC products.
• Solid understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and trade compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in working with freight forwarders, carries, custom brokers, and other logistics partners.
• Proficiency in using logistics and supply chain management software and tools.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to gather and interpret data to drive informed logistics decisions.
• Problem-solving orientation and the capability to handle unexpected challenges in a dynamic environment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance.
