Position Overview:
As a member of the Citrus Products Inc. customs team, the individual will oversee, direct, and maintain overall Customs Compliance Procedures to ensure all Cutrale companies are operating standard processes related to entry release of products and has knowledge of all areas of the U.S. Customs Regulations, including the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, Section Notes, research Customs binding rulings, and Export Regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Daily filing of entries to US Customs for ocean shipments.
- Daily ISF filings.
- General customer service to core account base and overseas agents.
- Daily tracking of all pending shipments.
- Review and organize all documents to include and prepare entries.
- Research regulations and maintain all documentation in order to follow standard compliance.
- Handle import FAK containers from origin to USA destinations.
- Work with US CFS to coordinate the devanning of containers.
- Communicate status of shipments to clients and troubleshoot any problems.
- Ensure full compliance for import & export transactions, including the review of documentation, filing of electronic information and record retention.
- Prepare and submit clearance instructions while ensuring full compliance with US import and internal requirements.
- Work with various importing requirements such as FDA, EPA, AD/CVD, Section 201,301,232, quotas, and Free Trade Agreements.
- Monitor U.S. imports to ensure timely clearance and resolve problems as necessary.
- Filing CBP form 7501 Type 1 and 6 (FTZ).
- Monitor regulatory and legislative changes. Communicate the changes internally as well as change processes to follow new regulations and laws.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or High School Diploma and relevant years of experience.
- 2+ years of direct US import and export experience.
- Direct experience with reviewing, preparing and processing import entries and export shipments.
- Excellent knowledge of US Customs regulations, US Tariff database, General Rules of Interpretation, and customs brokerage activities.
- Advanced knowledge of trade preferences (such as USMCA), duty minimizing programs (such as US Goods Returned) and valuation regulations.
- This role requires strong interpersonal attributes including high ethical standards, strong organizational and communication skills, high attention to detail, highly self-motivated and a team player.
- Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
- Must possess strong skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; PowerPoint a plus!
- Knowledge of US Harmonized Tariff Schedule (USHTS) Classification
- Licensed US Customs Broker preferred.
- Customs Specialist Certification preferred.
The Company is engaged in the wholesale distribution of frozen concentrated and not from concentrate orange juice (FCOJ and NFC, respectively) and banana products to customers both domestically and internationally.
