Position Description
Prepping and Scanning archived mapping documentation for the Revenue Office. Maintain a good record of scanned documents and cards. Assist Revenue Employee’s and Property owners in locating documentation.
Successful applicants must pass a criminal background check and will be subject to a pre-employment physical.
Essential Job Functions
Reception
1. Provide information to Revenue Employee’s and Property Owners about scanned images.
2. Provide information and instructions for use of paper link for Revenue Employee’s.
General
1.Prep archived mapping documentation before scanning. Make sure all documents are in order. Determine if a document needs to be pulled from probate to finish prepping.
2. Scan in documents. Make sure document is legible before finalizing.
3. Retrieve records from probate and Circuit court offices online or in department.
Education and Experience
Some knowledge of Alabama appraisal systems, Alabama state specifications for property ownership maps, and general office procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Verbal skills to communicate effectively with the property owners and revenue employee’s in a polite, courteous manner.
- Writing skills to write clearly and neatly.
- Reading skills to understand legal documents.
- Operate office machines such as computer, scanner, copy machine and printer. Ability to follow routine oral and written instructions.
- Ability to maintain and organize information within closely prescribed systems and procedures.
- Knowledge of filing systems.
- Computer skills to operate and understand various programs used in the Revenue Commissioner’s office.
- Ability to research, reason and work through a problem in logical chronological order.
- See well enough to read fine print and numbers without error or transposition.
- Hear well enough to respond to verbal communication. Speak well enough to communicate clearly.
- Body Movement or mobility to bend, lift move or stand. Strength to lift heavy books.
Other Characteristics
- Be willing to travel and attend workshops, seminars, etc. Be willing to work overtime as needed.
