Our IHOP is looking for experienced, skilled Cooks to prepare our delicious IHOP menu for our valued guests. Cooks must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals. They must be able to move around the kitchen quickly and safely, and be a very good multi-tasker to deliver timely dishes. The goal is to deliver delicious looking and tasting dishes consistently to keep and enhance our IHOP reputation.
Responsibilities
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
- Cook food in various utensils or grillers
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Check quality of ingredients
- Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
Skills
- Proven experience as a cook
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work in a team
Specific Functions and Duties:
- Prepares menu items according to IHOP’s Recipes,
- Plate-presentations and specifications.
- Completes all assigned prep work.
- Sets up work station according to station diagram.
- Practices sanitary and safe food handling at all times.
- Cleans and sanitizes the work area before, during and after shift.
- Completes assigned daily and weekly cleaning projects.
Qualification Standards:
- Able to place plates, utensils, pans and cases on high and low shelves.
- Reading, writing and verbal communication skills required.
- Capable of using knives, slicing equipment and other food preparation equipment.
- Mobility required during the entire shift.
