The Ohio Attorney General's Office has played a vital role in shaping Ohio's past and present and the work it does
today helps chart the state's future. The office consists of nearly 30 distinct sections that advocate for consumers and
victims of crime, assist the criminal justice community, provide legal counsel for state offices and agencies, and enforce
certain state laws. In these and other capacities, staff members interact with tens of thousands of Ohioans each year.

What You'll Do:

The Ohio Attorney General's Office is currently seeking an experienced individual for an Identification Supervisor (OHLEG)
vacancy in the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) Section. This position will report to the London, OH office and
manage the OHLEG Support Staff. The Bureau of Criminal Investigation, known as BCI, is the state's official crime
lab serving the criminal justice community and protecting Ohio families. BCI also provides expert criminal investigative
services to local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies upon request. With offices throughout the state, BCI stands
ready to respond 24/7 to local law enforcement agencies' needs at no cost to the requesting agency.
Staff at BCI work every day to provide the highest level of service. This includes special agents who are on call 24/7
to offer investigative assistance at crime scenes, knowledgeable scientists and forensic specialists using cutting-edge
technology to process evidence to bring criminals to justice, and criminal intelligence analysts and identification specialists
who help local law enforcement solve cases. Experienced special agents, forensic scientists, and other law enforcement
experts' staff BCI's three main divisions: 1) Identifications 2) Investigations and 3) Laboratory.


The duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Under the supervision of the Director of OHLEG, supervises the activities of the OHLEG Support Staff including instructing subordinates in the Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway usage, the communication's room operation.
- Review and reconcile Sex Offender, Arson and Violent Offender databases.
- Process OHLEG applications, respond, and oversee customer services issues regarding OHLEG from law enforcement agencies and courts.
- Assists Director with development of policy and procedures of unit.
- Reviews and evaluates employee performance.
- Recommends leave requests assuring coverage of the OHLEG Support unit.
- Assist with requests from law enforcement agencies, and technical support associated with OHLEG.
- Trains subordinates.
- Serves as liaison between Director and subordinates.
- Transmits decisions and directives.
- Represents Director of OHLEG at meetings and conferences.
- Responds to the needs of law enforcement community in related complex and confidential matters.

4 years of experience as an OHLEG Support Specialist; knowledge of OHLEG
Rules and Regulations and the Sex Offender Notification System.
- Or 4 years of training or experience with OHLEG; 6 months of experience with
the OHLEG Rules and Regulations and the Sex Offender Notification System
and as an OHLEG employee.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
