Position: Physician, ICU Hospitalist
Location: Northeast suburbs of Chicago: Evanston Hospital / Glenbrook Hospital / Highland Park Hospital / Skokie Hospital
What you will need:
License: Illinois Medical License or License Pending
Certification: Internal medicine board certified/board eligible by the ABIM or AOA
BLS and ACLS certified
Central line skills preferred but not initially required
What you will do:
13-hour shifts: 6:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 1 week on and 2 weeks off
Provide care to 12-26 bed ICU (number of beds varies depending on location)
Admit medical patients and consult on surgical patients
Address any cross-cover issues that occur for both medical and surgical patients with support from the Intensivist On call
Respond to codes and rapid responses
Provide ICU consultation for ER and floor patients
Rotate to at least one other hospital site throughout the year
Work closely with internal medicine residents and nurse practitioners
Have an opportunity to acquire a-line, central line skills
Intubation needs to be provided by anesthesia or ER
NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) is currently seeking an exceptional ICU Hospitalist Physician for our Division of Hospital Medicine who can provide care to our patients in the ICU at any of our four legacy hospitals - Evanston, Glenbrook, Skokie, and Highland Park. The successful candidate must be Internal Medicine board certified/board eligible. Central line skills are preferred but not initially required.
