Shoreview's skating program consists of two different areas. Preschool children who are at least 4 years old can enroll in "pre-skills" classes. This course introduces preliminary moves in a 30-minute class. The purpose of the class is to develop familiarity, coordination and strength.
Basic skills classes are offered for youth. This part of the program includes Readiness Levels 1 & 2.
Classes are held at the Ramsey County Shoreview Arena located across the street from the City Hall/Community Center Complex.
- Teach basic and intermediate skills to children and adults at all levels.
- Plan, organize and conduct classes; assure safety of students.
- Assess skills for readiness to move to next level.
- Adjust teaching techniques based on strengths & weaknesses of students.
- Skating knowledge and experience is required.
- Must be at least 15 years old.
- Previous teaching experience is desired.
- USFSA instructor registration desired. (Basic Skills, Preliminary Moves, etc.)
Saturday mornings October through February.
2-4 hours each Saturday.
