Come join our rapidly growing family and be part of the tradition Alice Handel started in Youngstown, Ohio in 1945. From making each batch fresh daily to using Alice Handel's original methods and recipes, we’re still sharing our homemade Ice Cream and serving the communities we love so much one scoop at a time.

What we expect from ICE CREAM MAKERS

· Comfortable with a busy, high-level multi-task environment and a solid skillset in a production kitchen environment.

· Comfortable using and maintaining the cleanliness/sanitation of 2 pieces of heavy machinery, which often run simultaneously.

· Familiarity with following and executing recipes and adhering to strict policies and procedures of a production kitchen (e.g., sanitation, FIFO product rotation/dating, product inventory tracking). We offer 48 flavors daily which are pulled from 150+ recipes in our books.

· Ability to stay on task while completing daily Ice Cream making quantities and focus on re-stocking and organizing throughout the shift.

· Ability to lift, carry and move a minimum of 25 lbs., multiple times over the course of the shift.

· Ability and willingness to perform important cleaning/sanitation tasks in compliance with statewide industry standards and regional regulations.

· Stand, walk and/or move about for prolonged periods of time, with full use of the legs, arms, hands, and wrists.

· Consistently arrive on-time to all scheduled shifts throughout the week

· Able and willing to assist with Front of House duties during busy time (e.g., scoop, serve, ring up) in rare cases if needed

· Reliability – We are looking for people who strive to be part of a team environment where everyone holds themselves accountable, where everyone is willing to work hard, and be respectful. This enables us to focus on getting to know our guests better, have a more fun experience engaging with them, and all while focusing on the quality of our product and the customer experience.

This is a highly physical and dynamic job role. Ice cream making is an art form that is difficult to master, yet is highly rewarding, fun, and exciting.

What you can expect from HANDEL'S HOMEMADE ICE CREAM

· Cash and credit card tip sharing with team members. Tips average between $4.00 and $6.00 per hour!

· Competitive and fair pay for team members in a motivated and fast-moving business. This position starts at $12/hr plus tips, but earnings can be increased based on performance.

We are open 7 days a week, Monday-Sunday from between 11am-10pm. Specific store hours will depend on seasonal business.
