A motivated self-starter who wants to join a team dedicated to excellence and continuous progress. The successful Technical Writer will participate in activities at any point in the system development life cycle including documenting systems analysis/requirements definition, design, development, integration, testing, acceptance/deployment, sustainment/maintenance, and evaluation. Experience with Integrated Base Defense (IBD) Kitting, Entry Control Point (ECP), Non-Intrusive Inspection System (NIIS), Base Expeditionary Targeting Surveillance System - Combined (BETSS-C), BETSS-C Cerberus Scout, Rapid Deployment Integrated Surveillance System (RDISS), Force Protection (FP) Suite and Husky Mounted Detection System (HMDS, AN/VSS-6A) Suite of Systems is helpful.

What you need to be successful and how you will make an impact to the mission:
- Identifies contextual errors, reorganizes content, and edits graphics, tables, and illustrations.
- Participates in the process of crafting and refining ideas, cultivating sources, and developing articulate articles. Collaborates closely with technical teams to deliver appropriate content.
- Responsible for the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation.
- Writes and edits technical documentation for all the project's hardware and software to include installation, configuration, and how-to documentation.
- Provides expert oversight of technical writing and editing to all phases of acquisition and technical documentation for the Program, Project, or Contract.
- Training and other Technical Writers to support the creation of technical data.
- Provide subject matter expertise in the creation of templates and be able to describe complex and technical topics in a clear, concise, and accurate manner.
- Other duties as assigned by the Engineering Team Project Manager
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams.
- Works independently under general supervision.
What you will need to succeed:
- BA/BS + 5-8 years relevant experience (12 years' experience in lieu of a degree)
- US Secret Security Clearance Required
- Knowledge of the principles and practices involved in technical research, writing, and editing.
- Knowledge of and ability to use various word-processing and desktop publishing software applications.
- Knowledge of the organization's products and services, customer requirements, purpose and structure of required documentation, and end user's level of understanding
- Work closely with the engineering team Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Logisticians
- Familiar with the DoD Manual 5110.04 and Army Regulation 25-50
- Prior experience with developing technical data for DoD programs.
- Excellent written communication and grammatical skills
- Excellent organizational skills
