Hydraquip has four divisions: electric systems, fluid power, service & repair, and fluid conveyance. The Purchasing Associate - Level 1 is responsible for purchasing goods for the company in an efficient and economical manner following established policies and procedures in processing purchase orders.
Responsibilities:
- Follow company’s policies and procedures for the purchase of goods and services.
- Follow policies and procedures established by the Hydraquip President, and monitors approval of purchasing requisitions.
- Make certain that purchasing documents are completed properly and the terms and conditions of purchase are appropriate.
- Keep accurate records, including price histories and any problems in doing business with particular vendors.
- Work closely with Coordinators and sales representatives scheduling production to maintain an appropriate level of inventory.
- Carry out all duties and responsibilities in an ethical and conscientious manner.
- Support and participate in the organization’s continual improvement program and conform to ISO 9001:2008 requirements by complying with the Quality Policy and procedures and meeting Quality Management System objectives.
- Responsible for a select number of product lines.
- Training existing and new employees.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent secondary education.
EXPERIENCE
- Over five (5) years of experience in purchasing, distribution or related field.
- Education as described above may be accepted in lieu of experience.
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment is considered a plus.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Able to read, interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and produce manuals.
- Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Able to speak effectively before groups of customers, vendors, and groups of customers and employees of organization.
- Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, fractions, and percentages.
- Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and correspondence.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
