Key responsibilities, at a glance:
Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. This is an hourly position, w ith a pay range of 32 on the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule.

Key responsibilities, at a glance:
- Investigate, collect and analyze endemic or epidemic situations of Hepatitis B and C:
- collect, analyze, and/or monitor collection of epidemiologic data from multiple sources (e.g., field visits, interviews, routine and special Hepatitis investigations, relevant data from other disease surveillance databases [e.g., HIV; STD], etc.)
- incorporate data into Hepatitis B and C surveillance database (e.g., Ohio Disease Reporting System)
- monitor processes of specimen collection, delivery to laboratory, and reporting of results for special study projects
- enter Hepatitis B and C lab reports
- use statistical computer software packages (e.g., SAS) to write, produce, and post/distribute reports
- tabulate and analyze surveillance/study data
- assist with review of ODRS auto-algorithms to ensure appropriate case identification
- assist in planning and testing of new database functionality, HL7 development, and electronic lab reporting) as directed
- prepare graphic presentations of data for inclusion in reports or for display

Qualifications
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment
- Completion of graduate core program in public health or preventive medicine; AND
- 3 courses or 9 months' experience in the use of statistical computer software packages; AND
- 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in epidemiology; AND
- 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in physiology; AND
- 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in statistics; AND
- 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in human relations; AND
- 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in interviewing; AND
- 6 mos. exp. working in research or specific laboratory identifying or researching infectious or chronic diseases &/or related environmental health problems; AND
- Must be able to provide own transportation
- 6 months' experience as an Epidemiology Investigator 1 (65761) with the State of Ohio; AND
- Must be able to provide own transportation
- Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
- Graduate or advanced degree in public health or preventive medicine
- Experience in data management
- Experience in database computer software packages (e.g., Access, Excel, or FoxPro)
- Experience in statistical software (e.g., SAS, STATA, or SPSS)
- Courses in epidemiology - undergraduate 2 pts. each, graduate 3 pts. each
- Training in or experience working with programs related to infectious diseases
- Experience in disease surveillance or reporting
