Job description

Our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is seeking a Hybrid Medical Assistant Supervisor to oversee the daily activities of our Remote Medical Assistants. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, knowledge of Medical Assistant duties, and experience working in a healthcare setting. This is a hybrid-remote position that requires 1-2 days a week in office from the Dalles Clinic.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the daily activities of Medical Assistants, including scheduling, training, and performing evaluation
  • Ensure that Medical Assistants are adhering to established clinical protocols, policies, and procedures
  • Collaborate with clinical providers to ensure that Medical Assistants are providing quality care to patients
  • Provide virtual patient intake and update electronic health records
  • Provide virtual patient education and support
  • Monitor and report on Medical Assistants productivity and make recommendations for improvement
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of Medical Assistant activities and performance
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures related to Medical Assistant and responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines related to Medical Assistant practices
  • Provide support and guidance to Medical Assistants on clinical and administrative issues
  • Work closely with the FQHC leadership team to ensure that the Medical Assistant program is meeting the needs of our patients and providers

Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a primary care or FQHC setting
  • Knowledge of Medical Assistant duties and responsibilities, as well as clinical protocols, and procedures
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytic and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, Outlook and other computer applications
  • Experience working with Electronic Health Records(EHR) systems
  • Ability to work remotely and travel to clinical locations, as needed
  • Commitment to patient centered care

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year of experience in a supervisory role
  • Bilingual- English and Spanish
