What does Systems Integration & Test (SI&T) do?

SI&T integrates, verifies, and validates our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers.

Job Summary:

The Hardware In the Loop (HWIL) Department in Tucson, AZ is a multi-discipline organization responsible for designing, building and integrating state of the art testing environments (flight simulators for missiles), as the last step before flight test. On our team, you will work with weapon system designers to understand requirements, design solutions, integrate, and deploy the systems to help support tactical software development, testing, and delivery for missiles to the warfighter.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team in an engineering environment
  • Lead a team within a specific discipline (Hardware, Software, Firmware or Mechanical) in the support of a Program. As the lead, you will be expected to provide training, as needed, understand the scope, cost and schedule of the Program and define and delegate tasking for your team.
  • Report status metrics for your team to stakeholders
  • Define program requirements in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Develop and participate in presentations for gate reviews
  • Travel up to 20% to support development and/or delivery of our test environment equipment
  • Ensuring assigned tasks are performed within technical, cost, and schedule requirement

Basic Qualifications:

  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
  • Experience contributing to the design, development and/or integration of the test equipment within an HWIL environment
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team in an engineering environment
  • Active and transferrable US Government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
    • Please note that many of our programs also require Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM). ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
  • Experience contributing to the design, development and integration of test equipment within HWIL environment
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • Experience with Agile Process
  • Experience with gate reviews
  • Knowledge of Model Based Engineering or Model Based Design

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
