JOB SUMMARY

Provides support to an installation team by completing tasks in a safe, prompt, accurate, and professional manner and following customer specifications, applicable building code and proper piping practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Unload, verify deliveries and install HVAC equipment, such as package AC, curb adapters, split systems, air handlers, duct work, including grease duct, etc., in accordance with project requirements and under direction of a senior technician.

Perform all assigned work in a safe and responsible manner. Use layout, hand and powered tools, powered vehicles, machinery, and PPE as directed and required by Source, customer, and contract policy.

Escalate problems and concerns (safety, quality of work, etc.) to on-site senior technicians or project managers promptly.

Maintain clean and professional jobsites/work areas at all time. Properly store, disassemble, or remove all spare and waste materials created on assigned jobsites.

Provide assistance and support to senior technician/s on a job.

Carry out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical and professional manner.

Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education or experience equivalent to a High school diploma, GED, completion from trade program or technical school.

EPA Required

1+ years of experience in the construction, refrigeration, HVAC, or other related industry/trade preferred.

Ability to operate a scissor lift or forklift preferred.

Proficient in soldering, brazing and MIG welding.

Knowledge of jobsite safety, ability to perform work in accordance with safe work practices and rules.

Ability to use basic layout, hand and power tools including drills, fuel gas tools, electrical meters and measurement tools, etc.

Knowledge of AC system and refrigeration cycle functioning; HVAC equipment airflow requirements; electricity, voltage and color codes; duct work codes and seismic bracing codes; different HVAC controls; smart T-stats, etc.

Proficient in reading and understanding abbreviations and basic information of plan sets, as well as customer specifications

Ability to work in a variety of working conditions, including scaling ladders to various heights, outdoors in hot/cold temperatures, in noisy environments, etc.

Good driving record.

Work Environment

This job typically operates in convenience stores, grocery stores, food service and/or construction environment with need to work at heights from ladders and/or Scissor lifts. Mechanical rooms can have elevated noise levels. The position regularly works near/with refrigeration/HVAC equipment that can expose the workers to extreme cold from refrigerant and high heat from brazing operations. This role routinely works in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust. These conditions require employee to use the correct PPE and safety work practices.
