Job description

Parker & Sons is currently seeking an experienced, energetic, highly skilled HVAC Technical Leader to join our team. This person will work side by side with our HVAC Service and Warranty Supervisor team! HVAC Supervisors are tasked with managing daily field operations, employee training, retention, recruiting, safety, team meetings and ensuring the technicians are providing outstanding service to our customers. Our continued growth has merited adding this role for the right candidate with Technical Leadership experience to assist our Supervision team with HVAC technical issues.

What Will I Do? 

 

  • Be the primary driver of technical knowledge for the HVAC Service and Warranty teams.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to Supervisors and their technicians on a wide range of technical topics.
  • Collaborate daily with the Supervisors, ensuring they, and their technicians, have the technical support needed to perform their functions.
  • Leverage measureQuick remote access with technicians to observe the performance of the system they are working on and help remotely diagnose issues for technicians.
  • Partner with Supervisors to review follow-up tasks, and in some cases, directly handle the follow-up with the client.
  • Be the primary technical liaison between Parker & Sons and our manufacturer partners.
  • Regularly seek out manufacturer and other industry training to be the primary source of technical knowledge on new equipment and industry technology within Parker & Sons.
  • Maintain a report of diagnostic and service errors and regularly review the report with Supervisors to help them determine additional technical training needed by specific technicians.
  • Be a first point of contact for our technicians seeking technical support when their supervisor is unavailable or is unable to properly address their question.
  • Assist with technical escalations and certain customer disputes in collaboration with Supervisors.
  • Be available for weekends (on a rotation basis) 

Do I have What it Takes? 

 

  • Solid experience installing, commissioning, and servicing HVAC systems, including equipment, ductwork, and controls.
  • Extensive experience training technicians to develop their technical skills and industry knowledge.
  • Possesses an engrained customer service ethos.
  • Excellent leadership skills and team mentality to enhance team productivity.
  • Possess computer skills including Excel / Word / PowerPoint and be highly organized.
  • Positive energy and enthusiasm to ensure technicians are engaged.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • MUST be able to pass a drug screen and background check

  • Decrease in service call backs
  • Increase in Technician confidence resulting fewer return trips
  • Increase in monthly service sales / duct sales from expanded technical knowledge
