With over two decades of experience in the maintenance and construction industries, we are seeking to welcome a HVAC-R Technician to join our dynamic team.
Job Summary:
The HVAC-R Technician performs mechanical diagnostics on a variety of building systems, providing clients with proposed solutions discovered through the diagnostic process. The technician needs a strong acumen in chillers, boilers, RTUs, split systems, VRF systems, refrigeration, controls, and other building mechanical systems.
Essential Functions:
- Troubleshoot and diagnose building mechanical systems (including but not limited to: RTUs, split systems, VRFs, boilers, chillers, AHU and VAV).
- Capable of repairing and/or installing proposed diagnosis.
- Responsible for planning, laying out and overall efficiency at project repair and/or installation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Capable of navigating computer systems and service CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system.
- Manage onsite communication with customers and facility directors.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Assist in training apprentices.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC-R systems and equipment.
- Ability to use power and hand tools.
- Ability to use thermometers, pressure gauges, and other testing devices to evaluate HVAC system.
- Ability to read operation and repair manuals for HVAC-R systems.
- Excellent mechanical skills.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- 5 years of experience in a related position, preferably within the HVAC-R or Mechanical industry.
- Certification, professional license, or credential required or in process (EPA II)
- Valid driver's license and dependable transportation
- OSHA 10/30 - Can provide OSHA Training
Physical Requirements
- Physically able to work on HVAC-R units.
- Will be required to work in settings with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on time of year.
- Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, or climbing ladders.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
