Honeywell in New York City is looking for our next HVAC HELPER! We are looking for motivated, hardworking and reliable individuals to join our team as an HVAC helper. The responsibilities of an HVAC helper include assisting HVAC technicians' complete routine preventative maintenance, assisting HVAC technicians' complete various repairs to HVAC systems and also completing the installation of various different types of new HVAC systems. All Applicants should be physically fit, good with their hands, be familiar with using tools and able to effectively follow instruction and work well with others. HVAC HELPER

RESPOSIBILITIES

• Assisting technicians perform routine preventative maintenance on various different HVAC systems on commercial properties throughout NY Metro.
• Assisting technicians perform repairs on various different HVAC systems..
• Assisting technicians perform installations of various different types of HVAC systems.
• Ability to operate and use hand tools and power tools
• Following instructions for picking up and delivering parts, tools, materials, and supplies to and from the job site.
• Ensuring all tools, materials, and equipment are kept track of and kept in good working order
• Ability to work well with others.

Compensation: $21 to $29 per hour

Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:

• Trade or vocational school graduate.
• Minimum of one to five years' experience in HVAC work.
• Candidate must have a valid New York City refrigeration license at time of appointment or selection.
• Ability to work indoors in cramped, crowded spaces, usually not air conditioned.
• Ability to work outside in all kinds of weather, at ground level and on roofs.
• Ability to lift, carry, push and pull a variety of tools, equipment and material.
• Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch to gain access to pipes, wiring and equipment.
• Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools.
• Adheres to all Honeywell and customer safety standards.
• Compiles job documentation, such as certificate of completion, customer training form, training certificates and punch lists.
• Keeps management and Honeywell contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
• Assists in performing site-specific training for owner / operator on the total building control system.
• Valid driver's license

Additional Requirements:

• Must be able to safely and legally operate a vehicle using a seat belt
• Must be able to wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness and safety boots to safely perform job duties
• This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling and climbing ladders. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs. and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. (may occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs
• Must be able to safely use a ladder.
• Must be able to comfortably and routinely access rooftops with extension and/or fixed ladders at heights of 15 to 20, and occasionally, up to 50 feet +
• This role may be exposed to variable weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, risk of electrical shock, noisy operating equipment and other variable environmental conditions based on location.
