Hvac Apprentice/Helper

Job Description: Helps assemble, install, or repair HVAC equipment per specifications and manufacturer’s recommendations.

High Level Job Functions:

• Installation of all types of HVAC equipment, piping, control wiring, thermostats, motors, control boards, etc.
• Assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings, using soldering, brazing, or welding equipment.
• Review blueprints, submittals, building codes, or specifications to determine work details or procedures.
• Using hand or power tools.
• Direct helpers engaged in preassembly and installation of HVAC systems or components.

Detailed Job Functions:

• Understanding of drain and line set connection requirements.
• Cut, bend, or thread pipe for gas, air, or water lines.
• Move or fit heavy objects.
• Understand construction specifications.
• Assemble and install fittings and HVAC equipment.
• Fabricate, assemble, or disassemble manufactured products by hand.
• Pressure test piping system or equipment for leaks
• Adhere to safety procedures.
• Perform safety inspections in construction or resource extraction settings.
• Maintain or repair work tools or equipment.
• Braze or Solder copper tubing or components together
• Use hands or power tools.
• Use pressure gauges.
• Use oral or written communication techniques.
• Determine installation, service, or repair needed.
• Determine material or tool requirements.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, and twist for an extended amount of time.
• Must be able to keep and regain balance, make repetitive motions.
• Must be able to pass drug screen.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
