1st Shift CNC/Skilled Machine Operator

Reports To: Mike Mulder-1st Shift Lamination Production Supervisor

 

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

 

Compensation: Hourly

 

Summary

 

The primary purpose of this position is the successful operation of CNC Machines in the Lamination plant, working in different areas as needed. This position will be responsible for set-up and operation of the Hundegger CNC Machine as well as the Roll Coat CNC Machine where production needs dictate on a day to day basis. Hundegger operation includes being responsible for determining needed materials, pulling up programs for machine operation, confirming material placement on machine and manually moving material. Roll Coat Operation includes applying adhesive to foam pieces, leading the lamination process, operating or tending the Roll Coat Machine that joins OSB and EPS to create SIPs, Material Handling and overseeing operations of Large and Small Press Equipment. This is a multi-function/multi-purpose position.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

1. Operate adhesive roll-coating machine

2. Prepare machine for operation

3. Properly maintains and cleans machine

4. Stages raw materials

5. Responsible for data tracking and computer entries

6. Reporting of materials and quality checks

7. Operate hi-lo and overhead cranes

8. Responsible for setting and operating press equipment

9. Perform other duties as assigned

10. Communicating with fellow team members

11. Maintain a clean and safe work environment

12. Maintain quality standards

13. Problem solving

14. Working with wood for construction industry

15. Work with 5-axis CNC machine (Hundegger)

16. Perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

 

1. Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with CNC equipment

2. High school diploma or equivalent

3. Manufacturing experience preferred

4. Machine Operation experience preferred

 

Travel

 

This position requires minimal to no travel

 

Computer Skills

· Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access

· Demonstrated proficiency using EPICOR ERP or similar systems

1. Ability to read and interpret blue-prints

2. Ability to read a tape-measure

3. Ability to lift over 75 lbs.
