Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Human Rights Investigator Trainee. Under immediate supervision, this position will participate in an agency sponsored training program from six to eighteen months. The position will receive work assignments designed to acquire knowledge and skills in discrimination charge intake duties and responsibilities.
The position will interview and counsel inquiries of potential complainants and receive training on the proper collection of information, testimony, and records. This position provides a great opportunity for someone with a strong sense of integrity and fairness who is interested in ensuring all appropriate EEO and Affirmative Action rules are applied appropriately and consistently. Job Responsibilities

  1. Serves as Human Rights Investigator Trainee

  1. Receives training on the proper collection of information, testimony, and records on employment, discrimination cases, or sexual harassment cases

  1. Receives training in the methods of case analysis with the objective to make recommended decisions

  1. Receives training to assist higher level HUMAN RIGHTS INVESTIGATORs in the collection of information on cases in the form of statistics, records, and other documentation, as well as by interviews of complainants, employers, and witnesses

  1. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications
1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with coursework in business, public, or personnel administration, or social sciences
2. Requires no previous experience

1. Requires the ability to pass a background check.
2. Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties. Requires appropriate, valid driver's license.
