The HR Specialist is responsible for supporting a variety of important HR programs, processes, and projects. The work includes professional administrative and entry-level generalist duties. The HR Specialist is a trusted resource for employees as well as the HR team, and executes important, time-sensitive, and confidential tasks.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Complete and track various employment & employee related transactions in the HRIS system
  • Provide support to the Talent Acquisition team, when needed
  • Initiate pre-employment screening and track results for pre-hires
  • Coordinate and conduct new hire orientation and support the onboarding process by communicating with new hires, completing I-9s, tracking onboarding tasks, encouraging the timely completion of onboarding activities for the hiring manager and new employees
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employees and respond to general employee questions
  • Administer and track the leave of absence process for assigned employee groups
  • Review and code invoices and coordinate approvals. Research and resolve payment issues with vendors and the accounts payable team if needed
  • Coordinate and support employee engagement efforts and activities (employee events, surveys, culture)
  • Perform routine audits of standard HR processes to ensure compliance
  • Takes direction from leadership, provides general HR support as needed based on HR function and business needs and activities
  • Participates in the work to support important annual HR functional processes: Performance Management, Succession Planning, Compensation and Benefits
  • Provide routine and/or ad-hoc reporting as requested
  • This position is responsible for administering the following programs:
    • Time Administration for assigned groups
    • Employee Relocation Program
    • Employee Service Award Program
    • Compliance Posting Program
    • E-Verify Program and Portal
  • Other duties as assigned
Competencies:
  • Excellent customer service and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Collaborative working with peers and customers
  • A high level of security and confidentiality expected due to the access to sensitive information
  • Proactively engages in finding solutions, taking initiative to provide support where needed
  • Identifies opportunities to improve work products & processes and recommends/implements solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and working knowledge of web-based applications (recruiting, e-learning, etc.)
Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of related experience in an assistant/coordinator role, HR administrative support and Human Resources environment
  • Associate degree Required. Bachelor's Degree preferred

Preferred Systems knowledge & Experience:
  • Workday experience preferred
  • Kronos experience preferred
Work Environment
  • This is a hybrid role with the option to work up to 2 days/week remote
