Limbrick and Gilbert (LG) Legacy for Kids began in 2009 with a desire to foster and adopt children, establishing a safe and nurturing environment for them to learn, grow and develop. Our care for the children and caregivers we serve is anchored in our vision to redesign and redefine quality care for youth. More than a decade later, that vision has forged the foundation for the existing homes and programs that we have today, which include Turning Point Children Social Services, The Gold Star Academy and Rob & Simon’s Hawthorne House.  


We are seeking a Human Resources Specialist who will provide an expertise in a specific area of HUMAN RESOURCES such as compensation, benefits, recruitment, employee relations, training and development, employee wellness. May provide recommendations to management and employees, will respond to daily inquiries, provides information about and interprets policies and procedures, investigates employee issues/concerns; may be asked to present and communicate for a variety of audiences; and update Human Resources Manager and all Leadership and staff where applicable. 


Responsibilities:


As our HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST you will be expected to:

  • Review job applications and conduct technical interviews to screen the talent
  • Review and filter applications from potential candidates
  • Recruit employees
  • Onboard new employees and conducts orientations 
  • Arranges on site visits or virtual meetings
  • Review location work schedules to ensure compliance with day to day operations
  • Review timecards for accuracy 
  • Ensure coverage for locations when employees call off shift
  • Work for the betterment of the workspace environment
  • Overview of the employee activities and performance from time-to-time
  • Provide detailed reviews of employee performance to the Human Resources Manager/Managememt
  • Assist senior HR managers in researching and drafting healthy HUMAN RESOURCES policies
  • Assist and collaborate with HR teams for the effective talent acquisition process


Educational Requirements:


  • Typically requires a University Degree and. minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field in the absence of the degree and 6 years in HUMAN RESOURCES, business management, business administration, or other relevant fields 
  • Complete familiarity with HR processes and programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Complete know-how of MS office suite
  • Good organizational skills
  • Skills to multitask efficiently and the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to work in a challenging workspace
  • Positive attitude towards challenges and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Great attention-to-detail
  • Complete understanding of HR digital tools
  • Sound knowledge of HUMAN RESOURCES management software
  • Know-how of employee pay rolling system
  • Ability to securely handle employee records


Preferred Qualifications: 


  • Certified HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST with a certificate from an HR certification institute
  • Strategical thinking and mindset to contribute effectively to the HUMAN RESOURCES department
  • A-Z familiarity with HUMAN RESOURCES functions and procedures
  • Ability to efficiently work in a time-driven environment


Additional Requirements:

 

  • Proof of valid Texas Driver's License (Type C)
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Cleared criminal background check
  • Cleared TB test results (current within 12 months prior to employment)
  • Cleared drug screen
  • Reliable mode of contact (Cellular Telephone, Landline, Email, VOIP etc.)  

  

Physical Demands:

With or without reasonable accommodation, the physical and mental requirements of this job may include the following: seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly. Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, frequent sitting, standing and walking, may be required for long periods of time and may involve climbing stairs, walking up inclines, and on uneven terrain. Additional physical requirements may include, frequent lifting and or moving.
