Dohrn is currently seeking a Human Resources Specialist for our Corporate office in Rock Island, IL.
PURPOSE
To provide critical support to recruit, support, train and place employees in the right roles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Produce and manage weekly/monthly reporting of talent pool
- Ensure company recruitment process supports guidelines for equal employment opportunities
- Administer Quarterly and Annual Employee Performance Review Program
- Identify Company's hiring needs
- Ensure recruiting process to ensure it runs smoothly
- Liaison between employment agencies
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor laws related to minimum wage, child-labor, overtime and record keeping
- Assist Human Resources manager on development and implementation of hiring strategies
- Respond to employees queries and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Assist with design and implementation of training and development plans with Learning and Development Coordinator
- Consult with department managers to development performance improvement measures and arrange on-the-job training for new employees.
- Assist with leadership development programs for benchmarking/succession planning with Human Resources Manager and Human Resources Director
- Coordinate programs to assistant employees with job transition/retraining to develop/refresh skill sets
- Attend and actively participate in meetings as required
- Organize and maintain personnel records in compliance with laws
- Ensure compliance with Labor Law postings at all locations
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Provide excellent customer service
- Participate in HR projects
- Manage multiple duties simultaneously
- Work in a positive, supportive, and cooperative way at all times
- Perform other duties as needed
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Driver License
- 2-year degree and 2 years' experience in Business, HR or other related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with HR software, HRIS or HRMS preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent data entry and typing skills preferred
- Human Resources experience preferred
- Detail-oriented, analytical thinker, and problem-solver
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and react to change productively
- Ability to navigate multiple computer systems
- Ability to work on tasks independently or in a team environment
- Excellent attendance
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Primarily sedentary work, which involves sitting most of the time
- May be occasionally required to exert up to 20 pounds of force and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- The general office environment is favorable; Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are minimal hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc;
- Visual Acuity including regular use of items including a computer screen or monitor
- Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers
- Talking and hearing required to communicate with and listen to others to share or receive information; May be occasionally exposed to noise including telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others
